I have added the types of “Enjoy booklet” as well as “(Pulp-) magazine” at the request of someone who wants to import Tarzan pulp booklets (the first Tarzans in NL).
About that “better back”: I don't think that's a very well-known strain. If they are bound books then it can in principle also be underneath.
We always have to consider whether the sophistication that an extra type makes possible outweighs the increased complexity because the list of options is growing.

@ kickered (sorry for late response): type of book is now about how the book looks (bound etc.) and facsimile is about the content draft (that it is a reproduction equal to the old original).

@ AvdP: the idea is that we do not include all print runs in the catalog, but clearly changed reprints (for example with changed cover or content). Because the value for reprints is usually the same, it is also not necessary to list all prints individually in the catalog to indicate the value. However, the second and third editions can still be chosen separately because they sometimes have a clearly different value than later editions of well-known books. But you can discuss whether the second and third editions should be listed separately in the dropdown box.
For the copy in your own collection you can indeed indicate the exact pressure in the Notes field.

@Jilles
Thought you were referring to something else, but then that is clear to me. :)
@Rene
Bruna released a lot of baterbacks in the 80's, higher quality for lower price.
I also understand that more than 30 to over 50 print runs of one book is quite a lot to produce. Especially when an entire series has been reprinted each time and each volume has been reprinted more than 50 times.
Perhaps useful to make a value list with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. values that deviate from the later editions, to put them first in a table and to bundle the reprints with the same or minimal differences therein. Difficult if a print is very different in terms of cover. Even that can still be done that way. This by expanding the image bar with prints that differ in terms of cover and by specifying the pressure.
Ok, not a great idea, but it does clean up the database. When I think about it like that, this is a shift from what is now. But each reprint of each book will keep the story intact, perhaps more modern writing style, and the writer will remain the same. Often even the publisher.
I just suggest something, so if it's nothing, I really understand. =)
You also have VAT problems with possibly insuring your collection.

About facsimile:
You are right about that, but personally I think it is so important that it should not end up in the sink "details". Maybe add to the "pressure" field. It is a special kind of reprint.

I want to import a collection of about 70 Disney books.
There is a series of “animated magic”. But in the collection that I want to enter are not only books about animation but also about Disney parks, Disney merchandise, Disney company etc.
Needs a new series, say, “Disney” to be created and books can be in different series be ranked?

Dear Tjeerd,
I think it would be a good idea to create a series “Disney”. We then classify all literature about Disney, the cartoons, the parks, etc. below. Comics, however, do not belong in it, they belong in the Comics section (where there are already a lot of them).
It would also be nice if, where possible, you also link books as curiosities to the comic series in question.
So, for example, enter a book about Mickey Mouse cartoons as curiosities in Mickey Mouse's Comics and then choose the Book type. And then fill in the series “Disney”. Then it comes to Books under Disney as well as Comics under Mickey Mouse (there under curiosities because it is a book and not a comic). Just give it a try.
If they are already in the books section, you can still link them to collection areas in other sections via the appropriate option on the right-hand side when you click on an item. There is also a main Disney section because specific Disney characters themselves are also collected a lot. Would be nice if you link them to that too.
Thank you very much for your input work!
René

Hi René,
I have entered almost all my books under the new series "Disney". Since the books are about Disney cartoons in general, I haven't made any links (yet).
How do I get a book in one series also in another series?
Tjeerd

Great Tjeerd, all those Disney books!
I think you mean that the books you entered under the Animated Magic series also want to see under Disney?
I think that in this case the series name for those books should also be Disney and then put “Animated Magic” in the Book series field. Then you can see those books together through the book series, but everything falls under Disney.
René

@ René
Much earlier notice has been given here about adding a book series.
Can I also see and sort these when I look at my collection. then it is much better to keep track of what I already have in my collection, and I just don't have them in series in my cupboard (eg not all havanks together but by number of the black bears)

I miss the option to add the original title of a (translated) book, as well as the translator. Was it consciously chosen not to include that information?
This information is often not known for (older) comics, but for “normal” books it is good bibliographic practice to mention it.
For collectors who collect publications of certain authors in all renditions, it may also be necessary information. And I know that fans of certain writers are also interested in the books translated by their favorite (eg Dickens by Godfried Bomans).

@ Bookstore
A lot of questions, never did anything, unfortunately. Hope it can get there, especially with possibly linking to the original book.
