@Arco or René, it is more important that the back button remains in it than that a new layout has been made so that it becomes clearer, despite the fact that it takes some getting used to.

With this new layout, it was not thought that it is more important to also be able to work well in the catalog.

As a result, no other work will be done to keep the catalog up to date, such as detecting duplications, adding information.

more duplications will also be placed, because the actions to check whether an item is already in the catalog is much more complicated via the browser, the push button is too important for all the work that needs to be done.

I would appreciate any response from people who do work with the back button and who find it a loss

Try using the back button of your browser. With a bit of luck we have found the solution with an adjustment.

I would like to hear your further experiences ...

. no, don't use that browser backup button.

We wanted to get rid of that.

but there has been a change, you just come back after entering an item in catalog page without a browser, and that's okay.

Just wait and see what problems we get later with processing duplicates.

I still don't understand the relationship between this button and duplication processing. And I have already processed quite a few.

@Ted, you have never worked with the back button, you said, apparently you worked with your browser, in my opinion this went on a difficult basis.

or you have worked with 2 screens.

Anyway, if you're working through the browser, you keep clicking to get back to catalog, and that's why the return is more convenient and efficient, and everything goes faster.

Give it a try before you stick with comments. I no longer see a difference between the old back button and the back button in the browser.

That back button (mouse / browser) works great, the programmer has worked that out well.

If you want to go back to the catalog after entering a number of new items, you have to click the backup button of the browser many times. With the back button that was only once. I import an average of more than 100 postcards per day and have to check regularly if an item is already in the catalog and use the back button dozens of times a day for that.

or a lot of people don't get it, Again there is no back button anymore !!!

It's totally gone with this new layout.

Apparently it is now built in, because it now works fine without the browser backup.

after changing an item you had to go to the page where you started via the back button, this is now automatic. and the browser backup is no longer necessary

Everything is fine.

I've been trying all day!

I don't understand anything about aartinge's story. What is now built in and works without browser backup ???

Nothing is automatic.

I did discover that if I use the back arrow of my right mouse button I will go back to the catalog page.

That's what we mean. Or press the back key in your browser.

The back button we had is gone forever.

It's okay that you tried it all day, but at 4:04 PM I said you should try again; then the adjustments were ready.

again it doesn't work, if I saved something, I came back to the catalog

but that is not the case now, I have to go back via the browser.

Would you like to take a look at what is going wrong?

Same here.

Give it a try before you stick with comments. I no longer see a difference between the old back button and the back button in the browser.

The big difference was that the back button displayed the page refreshed.

With the back button in the browser you go back to the past.

Example: You created a new item in a series and clicked back: then you came back in the series with one click with the newly created item in its place.

With the back button: click one back to your window with adjustments, click two back in your item before making an adjustment, click three back to the series from the past without any adjustment visible, click four go from the selection , click five go back in the selection to see your adjustment.

Another advantage was, if you were correcting a bug, you could use the back button to see the corrected copy disappear every time.

For example, 8 "hergé" were created by mistake instead of "Hergé". You selected these and started to improve. Each time "back" and each time there was one less, until they were all gone. No chance to open an item twice; "Have I already done this?".

still not good, difficult to handle duplication now.

As soon as you give an item a number as duplication, and you save this, you will normally return to the catalog page, now you will return to the item after saving and then you have to go back 3 steps to that catalog page with the backbrowser.

He was good for a while, but now it is just badly wrong again.

@Aartinge: Is it true that you use Chrome? Indeed, we see that the back button in Chrome does not always work properly. Safari and Firefox are fine.

There is a temporary trick to make the back button work properly. And that is by clicking with your mouse on the title of the item as soon as you are back on the item detail page. You will see that the back button in Chrome will work after that. Just try.

By the way, we are still trying to resolve this definitively so that a work-around is no longer necessary.
