even more striking is the lack of the figures between the left and middle butterfly...

So not only a counterfeit, but also a very stupid counterfeit.

Let's hope no one offers the reserve price.

Reported to Customer Service. They know their way around Catawiki. I can't do more.

Thank you! Reporting to the auctioneer does not help me.

The information given with the lots: Salvador Dali - L'art d'aimer d'Ovide is still too much to let pass.

Request sent to the auctioneer to add 'counterfeit'

Here is the right info for those interested: here

Many auctioneers have already made an effort to clearly state 'after' for lots, where necessary!

Be careful with the Modern Art Auction (France) which ends today.

All graphics in this Dali auction are not original but are described as follows :-(

Here that explanation

What I hear are no auctioneers deals with traders, certainly they are.

Especially that [name removed by moderator. Auctioneers are allowed to criticize, but only through Customer Service, or better yet: directly] with gallery Arnold.

Last brought in an Otto Eerelman by gallery Arnolt from Gasselternijveen, with attention by a dealer I know, then removed from catawiki.

The same painting was sold on the marketplace as a copy to Eerelman.

Then I started digging on catawiki and what appears to be several false works taken by [name removed by moderator ], including a JWGruyter that is now offered in the Twents auction house etc etc.

So no appointments !!!

A big appointment with many large traders is label on label off.

Add authenticity report and you're done.

False work by Harry Maas is regularly offered on Catawiki, the auction master Leo Sets does not respond to emails and any tips,

so never buy !!!! a work of art on Catawiki, you buy a cat in the bag, they only think of 9% auction costs

Anijs57: I suspect your "warning" will be continued. Nobody likes fakes, including (unexpected) non-ethical experts, if your unsubstantiated accusation here in the Forum is true. Because who are you with 1 message on the Forum ??

Discussion about the authenticity of antiques and curiosities you can of course write a series of books about. A collector's business is only buying anywhere if you have an understanding of the matter. "Never buy a work of art on Catawiki" is blunt, then you should have said "never buy a work of art via the internet look at something you want to buy on the spot". And you can still ask the expert questions prior to the auction? And then you can still buy a cat in a poke with art.

For the record: it is certainly the case if a buyer sees at an auction that the purchased item is not what it says according to the description. must be, then he can frustrate payment via Catawiki?

It seems to me if it really bothers you to report this to the management of Catawiki. Not on a Forum where we cannot pass judgment.
