Strange this. Searching with dashes has always worked.

By the way, make no mistake about the complexity of the ISBN field. It is very complicated for Catawiki to automatically generate an ISBN with dashes.

There is no simple rule for the 3 groups of numbers after it. If you don't know, just don't put dashes. Then other users or administrators will do it afterwards.
