@JohanKuijt

Maybe a little late, but read this discussion and see an open end. I have a reprint of Tintin in Africa (56-II) and indeed the quires have the name K. Congo followed by the quire number.

@Arentius
Maybe a little late, ...

After more than 6 years, this may well be called an understatement :-)

@Collectioneur

I know ... It just so happens that I asked myself the same question - I looked at my album last week and then I noticed that it contained "Congo". I googled to see if that was special or normal, and that's how I came up with this topic. So I thought let me respond ...

Can someone explain to me the big difference between the red and yellow back in 'Tintin in Congo'?

I think - quickly checking the catalog - the Congo (as hardcover 1946-1960) was only issued with a red spine.

A facsimile with a yellow spine was issued in 2004 in a very limited edition.

It seems as if I only find the French version Tintin au Congo (also) with yellow (linen) back. No Dutch language yet. The 4th shelf is identical to the one with a red back. Does anyone have an idea what the difference is?
