lordernie It's a book of cards. The cards can be unzipped and sent. Individual cards may be used as postcards, but a booklet is a booklet. Picture from WWW

Jilles lordernie
Has been discussed before on the forum.
Both the individual cards and the booklet belong in the Postcards section.
And the majority of those booklets are planned as Folders with cards at Thema.

That's right. In 2014, Arco already said on the forum what Jilles just said. All kinds of other things have been said recently, but that does not mean that it is a foregone conclusion that such booklets fall under Postcards.

You don't even have to go back to 2014.
In 2023, @Collecteur said on the forum that such items (i.e. those booklets) belong to Postcards.
A lot happens in 10 years...

That is an interpretation of someone who is neither an administrator of Books nor of Postcards.
You have nothing to do with this at all.

Sorry, but we are on a forum here, aren't we...
Read the topic at Postcards started on 22-10-2023 'Folders with cards'.
So what Collectioneur recently said is of no importance...
Don't want to say more about it...

Very wise. If Collectioneur has a different idea on a certain issue, we would like to hear it from him and not from passers-by.

vertigo Jilles buizer lordernie

but Arco often had strange ideas, I think.

but I would never look for these kinds of "booklets" in that section

Well, these series
In old postcard books

But "booklets" and actually folders from which you can take the cards out are not booklets, are they?

You should take a look at Books/Postcard booklets (tearable). Most booklets introduced there are not touristy, but deal with one specific subject. In most cases, these items have the character of booklets. They can be torn out, but they are also often used as a reference work.
Arco sometimes had strange ideas, but this time I didn't think it was that strange.

I'm not going to respond anymore, but do something else.

vertigo I don't like your tone at all on the forum. If users don't know something or argue, you have administrators to intervene. If administrators feel it necessary to argue now, it is up to management to intervene. Collectioneur Rene . Here with us they quarantine biting dogs!
Back to the heart of the matter: Tourist postcard folders like #415811 that started the thread contain a few postcards and have absolutely nothing to do with books. The Postcards section therefore seems logical.
What you are referring to are (poor) 33 items in the books section of which I can already say with certainty that 3 of them are Books with Theme postcards (and not tearable) (cf. Het Laatste Nieuws) and that the others look more bookish at first glance. look like folders, but I don't know them and there are not enough images to see whether they are tear-out postcards or not.

Is the topic starter item only a cover with postcards in it from which the postcards can be removed separately? And no further pages with text or anything else?
Then I would also intuitively think that it belongs in postcards, by analogy with stamp booklets in postage stamps.

But I am not familiar with these items and perhaps there are also these types of booklets where the emphasis is on the booklet itself (normal pages with content) with possibly a removable postcard. Then I would expect them to book sooner.

It's kind of where the "center of gravity" is, I think.

Rene There are also booklets from which you can tear postcards

Like this one, where each page is a postcard, at least when torn from the booklet.
The discussion is about these booklets . (at least that was the start of the discussion)
And personally I think these booklets should remain just books, but that's my idea. Cards from these booklets can be linked to the booklet.
A folder with cards is a cover with loose cards. Place with postcards, of course. A book with some maps accompanying books, there seems no doubt.

Jilles ,
At first glance, I would also intuitively expect that Ciccolina book to be a book.
Maybe that's because there is a lot left over if you were to take the cards out.
That is not the case with the item that started this topic, is it? There seems to be only a cover left?

Anyway, you quickly get into a difficult gray area between categories where there is something to be said for both. A bit comparable to postcards with a pre-printed stamp.

It can be even more complicated:
- a folder with loose cards (but then the term "tearable" is useless) = Postcards
- a folder with cards in accordion shape, tearable = ? (Doesn't seem like a book to me)
- a folder with cards in booklet form = ? (Where do you draw the line, the question was originally about tourist "booklets" which are usually very thin/small, #415811 where the comments state that there are 10 cards, seems a bit small for a book or paperback, unfortunately no dimensions or pages, and certainly not a Travel Book). You want it now at Boeken. #8967269 is also an edge case in Books, #2656915 seems similar to me and is listed under Postcards. For lack of better photos I'm not going to comment.
- a book with tear-out postcards = Books (at #9080859 there are 30 cards which already resembles a book, unfortunately the number of pages is not filled in).
- a book about postcards = Books and not "tearable" (as mentioned in previous message) but apparently someone has already done something with it today (I would also like to communicate the decision).

postcards with pre-printed stamp.
there is still a value attached to that stamp

a top 2000 book including 4 CD, I think the book is an appendix
another says yes CD is packaged in book so CD attachment
what is important to you, the letter or the sound!

Take this one

Someone probably came up with this idea before, but I can't read all the forums to know. When was it actually decided that they are only allowed in 1 category? A catalog is a kind of search engine, right?

I don't think it is the problem that it may occur size 1x.
The starting point was/is that we fill the catalog together (wiki).
Only if the packaging says post cart.
you don't look for that in books.
And if someone thinks, it has been put together as a book, okay, but then it is not yet a book
Let alone a pocket!
It is also not possible to link the individual cards with books.
Within the postcards section you can still create a series from the folder!
I once entered a Bach Boys record cover (wiki), I don't have the LP, but you never look for it under the heading: other - record cover (except for the fact that if it is there, it has to be transferred after , music records and CD)
Box: Dinky Toy that place at Dinky Toys with note only box
I think this also applies to these folders.

Box: Dinky Toy that place at Dinky Toys with note only box

The box should go to other as a separate item, but there is a chance that someone will say the wrong section, according to model car. And you can only make the comment in your own collection. Otherwise you will get a proliferation of boxes, cars without original packaging, cars with original packaging. They better add that to their collection.

I once had a short discussion with Collectioneur about matchboxes. These are listed under other and not under the match brands section. According to Collectioneur, it was allowed, because it was about the box, and not the label, and then I think it's fine.

I understand that, but we would be a wiki and complement each other.
and then that doesn't work anymore

and I think why the proliferation?
I have the box, you have the car
together we fill the catalogue, and only 1 item.

I don't understand that about those matches, you don't put those matchsticks in that section, do you?
and those things are in a box and pay attention also in those folders.
Let's put it briefly, but then the majority of my input is wrong

and why is the comment only allowed on my own item?
you know the discussion of 3 scan, there are those who leave an item sealed (I still don't understand that)
then you cannot post a third scan, just mention it, as soon as I make the third scan the comment can be deleted!

Own collection. You will also not include an item in your collection if there is a tear in the lower left corner. You place that in your own collection.

and I think why the proliferation?

Box: Dinky Toy that place at Dinky Toys with note only box
If you only put the box in the details of the catalogue?
