An unexpected, but very reassuring and hopeful message. Curious about the sequel next week.

Well arranged by René and Marco. This offers opportunities to continue with what it all started. I am very curious about the business model.
Set up in the form of a Cooperative with members, board, membership fee, co-owner and co-finance ????? It could just be.
..... Have used 'the last dodo' as an avatar for years ...

ben benieuwd
If there is no longer an auction, then the old earnings model will probably be used again, although there were also some problems with that ...
curious

Actually, I am quite skeptical about the whole process.
Catawiki, the aggregator site, was professionalized with paid shops, understandably, there must also be income to be able to develop and operate professionally.
The moment an auction site started running, a wedge arose between the auction site and the collecting platform. The collection platform participated to demonstrate the enormous potential but literally disappeared to the fine print at the bottom of the auction site. in terms of renewal and expansion of possibilities, the collectors could hardly count on the millions of the auction house. No expansion or updating of possibilities, zero investment or reward, rather happy that you can continue to exist (for free).
Now I am curious whether the founders will indeed return to revitalize their brainchild, invest and make it relevant again, or whether a next project and revenue model is lurking through the collector's potential and the accompanying metadata. All welcomed, but with a good chance that the collectors will remain huddled in the reeds for another decade.

On the understanding that the collection platform has been reasonably developed over the years and you no longer need dozens of developers.
edit: wonder if the old wish list still exists
Geweldig nieuws.

I hope that you indeed chose this consciously ... (;-)
Can I start a shop again?
Zomaar even een suggestie....
Perhaps this is also the ideal opportunity to clean up the collecting platform of collectors and shops that are no longer active.
Instead of "Opt out" as stated in the information message, one could also choose "Opt in".
One has to do something concrete to go along to the "new" platform. So you only have active collectors and a real range of shops.
Just a suggestion ....

I wouldn't find that acceptable for collections. Everyone is allowed to do something different for a while and know that the captured collection is in safe hands.
