Omdat we als regel de meest gebruikelijke naam opnemen, zou in dit geval "Johns, W.E." meer voor de hand liggen.

Voor die dit lezen.
Ben een kleine verzamelaar van o.a. boeken.
En ben slecht in namen van schrijvers e.d.
Nu geef ik regelmatig een boek in van de schrijfster Charlotte Lamb.
Als ik dat doe krijg ik die naam twee maal als mogelijkheid aangeboden.
Nu weet ik dus niet wie wie is, of mogelijk is er zelfs maar één met die naam.
De eerste mogelijkheid die mij word geboden is: Holland, Sheila (Charlotte Lamb), en de tweede mogelijkheid is: Lamb, Charlotte.
Ik kies steeds voor de laastse omdat ik de andere naam ken.
Wat doe ik (mogelijk) fout??????

And I am bad at the names of writers, etc.

Charlotte Lamb is het pseudoniem van Sheila Holland. Binnen Catawiki is gekozen om de echte naam leidend te maken en het pseudoniem tussen haakjes te plaatsen. Zodat er van schrijvers met meerdere pseudoniemen toch een overzicht komt van alles wat deze persoon geschreven heeft.
Charlotte Lamb is the pseudonym of Sheila Holland. Within Catawiki it was decided to make the real name leading and to place the pseudonym between brackets. So that writers with multiple pseudonyms still get an overview of everything this person has written.

Heb vandaag een boek van G.J.H. Krosenbrink aan kunnen schaffen.
Deze schrijver zoekende kwam ik ook Henk Krosenbrink tegen.
Nu blijkt uit het boek die ik nu heb dat beide personen eigenlijk maar één persoon zijn.
Zal het boek toch maar als G.J.H plaatsen omdat dat is wat op de voorzijde staat.
Op de achterzijde staat dan weer dat het Henk is.

Ik heb er al eens naar gekeken, maar is vrijwel niet achter te komen wie wat geschreven heeft. Dat komt deels door de formule die ervoor toepast werd. De plot werd geschreven door een van de leden van het Stratemeyer syndicaat, en vervolgens werd er dan een schrijfster ingehuurd om het boek te schrijven. Daar kon die schrijfster geen rechten aan ontlenen, want het pseudoniem bleef eigendom van het syndicaat, en in feite hebben die er evenveel mee te maken als de uiteindelijke schrijfster. Men kent wel de namen van de ingehuurde schrijfsters, maar om die aan een titel te koppelen is vrijwel onmogelijk..
I have already looked at it, but it is almost impossible to find out who wrote what. This is partly due to the formula that was used for it. The plot was written by one of the members of the Stratemeyer syndicate, and then a writer was hired to write the book. That writer could not derive any rights from that, because the pseudonym remained the property of the syndicate, and in fact they have as much to do with it as the ultimate writer. The names of the hired writers are known, but to link them to a title is almost impossible.

Ik zie dat bij Oorspronkelijke titel vier taalvelden zijn voorzien. Dat kan natuurlijk niet, de oorspronkelijke titel is in dit geval de Franse, en hoewel anderstalige titels als naamvariant gekoppeld moeten worden, mag de titel zelf op de internationale sites nooit vertaald worden.

I see that Original title has four language fields. That is of course not possible, the original title in this case is French, and although titles in other languages must be linked as a name variant, the title itself may never be translated on the international sites.
