Hello,

My collection of stamps is now quite large: 70,000+.

Excel 2003 and older can 'only' handle 65,536 lines, and I have the impression that the export function has that limitation too, because opening the ported file in Excel (version 2013 in my case) leads to an error export (namely 65,536 lines).

I can't set appropriate filters to limit exports (it's impossible to do per country, there are way too many). Is it still possible to export in parts, or even better, remove the 65,536 line restriction?

Koen.

The limitation is entirely in your version of Excel ...

Bye Morits,

That seems unlikely to me. My Excel is version 2013 and can handle more than 1 million lines. What do you think the limitation is then?

Anyone else an idea?

I had actually expected a response from someone at Catawiki itself, but it never happened.

Am I posting my question in the wrong forum?

Is there no one who has an answer or suggestion for this? Not a wizkid, administrator or other smart member?

This had escaped me.

We are writing to an XML file with specifications from about 2009 and apparently it has a maximum of 65,536 lines (2 to the power of 16). When that is achieved, the program overwrites the top part of the list with the rest. Is a problem that we will solve by creating an extra worksheet at 'overflow' with the continuation ... And if necessary several extra worksheets.

Hello Arco,

Thank you for your answer. Maybe an open door, but is there any idea when that change will be made?

Will take a while. We must first look at the total architecture of the platform and ensure that it can be used again for quite some time. Everything squeaks and creaks, as I wrote elsewhere this week.

Rene presumably the to-do list is long, and Excel Export is not a high priority.
Could there be an interim solution? I think Raoul62 suggested it somewhere:
A possibility to export per country, or a range of countries.
Or per (series of) years.

koenkuijpers ,
Oh, no. It had high priority because it's almost finished :-)
I expect we can put it live tomorrow!

Rene that's good news. Very curious about the outcome. I will be critical again :)
