Ik heb zojuist de naam Jones, Jeff veranderd in Jones, Jeffrey (Jeff Jones). Tot mijn verbazing blijft de naam Jeff Jones gewoon in mijn verzameling staan maar linkt nu naar een lege pagina. De naam Jeffrey Jones wordt niet vermeld in mijn verzameling terwijl zijn boek (Idyl) wel in mijn verzameling staat. Is dit normaal of doe ik iets fout ? Op deze manier kun je eigenlijk beter geen namen verbeteren lijkt mij omdat dit ook gevolgen heeft voor andermans verzameling. Zal ik het maar weer terug draaien ?

I just changed the name Jones, Jeff to Jones, Jeffrey (Jeff Jones). To my surprise, the name Jeff Jones just stays in my collection but now links to a blank page. The name Jeffrey Jones is not mentioned in my collection while his book (Idyl) is in my collection. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? In this way it seems to me better not to correct names because this also has consequences for other people's collection. Shall I turn it back on?

Ik zie dat de naam weer teruggezet is naar Jeff Jones en dat ook de naam bij het boekje dat ik had ingevoerd (Ravens and Rainbows) is veranderd in Jeff Jones. Dit is hoop ik een tijdelijke oplossing ? Ik heb namelijk nog 4 boeken met werk van deze tekenaar en alleen bij Idyl wordt zijn naam afgekort tot “Jeff” Op deze manier wordt de uitzondering de regel.

Wij hebben zelf niet veranderd. Zijn nog bezig met een structurele oplossing maar dat is even wat werk. Zo te zien heeft een van de beheerders terug gezet naar Jones, Jeff met als naam-variatie wel Jeffrey want als je “jeffrey” intikt in de zoekbalk dan vind je wel Jones, Jeff. Probeer maar even.
We komen hier dus nog op terug met een goeie oplossing.
We have not changed ourselves. Are still working on a structural solution, but that takes some work. Looks like one of the administrators has switched back to Jones, Jeff with the name variation Jeffrey because if you type “jeffrey” in the search bar you will find Jones, Jeff. Just try.
So we will come back to this with a good solution.

Klopt. Iedere nacht wordt bij iedereen zijn verzameling, zoeklijst en shop gecontroleerd of er nog eventuele gaten in zitten en die worden dan netjes verwijderd. Het kan dus zijn dat je er af en toe nog heel even last van hebt.

Als je een foute auteursnaam tegenkomt hoef je die trouwens niet zelf overal te gaan wijzigen, hoor. Als je een seintje geeft doen wij dat ‘met één druk op de knop’. En is de foute naam ook meteen verdwenen uit de database.
If you come across a wrong author name, you don't have to change it everywhere yourself, you know. If you give us a signal, we do so "with the push of a button". And the wrong name has immediately disappeared from the database.
