I have just viewed Postnl's rate list. To make it "easy" for the sender, Postnl has set the rate for letterbox mail insofar as the format is larger than C4 to 4.40, mail smaller can still be 20/50/100/350 grams respectively 0.91 1.82 2, 73 3.64 (4.40 to 2 kg)

C4 format: 324 x 229 mm,

maximum size: 380 x 265 x 32 mm

Citizens in the Netherlands will not know this, so Postnl will be busy sending penalty postage tickets. Our great postal company that honors the "little ones". Keep the tape measure handy.

Everyone at Catawiki a beautiful New Year, watch out for fireworks and wish you a happy and above all healthy 2020!

Harry J

NB Just last year there are calculation errors in the rate list, rate 5 stamps mz 4.55 no 4.40

5 91 cent stamps indeed cost € 4.55, but it is not a calculation error. The new standard rate is € 4.40, not 5 stamps.

Paste 5 stamps = 4.55. Unless every citizen labels 4.40 online and has a printer.

Learned a bit more about a stamp code. In the tariff booklet is neatly the XL stamp, I had read about that, so I can still purchase such a stamp. Father Postnl also thinks of everything .......

What I find confusing is that goods sent abroad may no longer be franked as a letter, but must be sent as a package; and digitally prepared. Doesn't seem like bad news to buyers and sellers of stamps, tea bags, cigar bands and so on ... Or am I misunderstanding that?

AAAAAAARGH!

No, I hadn't seen that yet. In Germany this has been the case for a year, and that has limited my purchases considerably. If a seller does not want to risk it (properly packaged, after all, nobody sees that there is no letter in it), each pin from Germany costs me 9 euros in postage.

I don't understand, because it is still allowed for domestic mail. What then do we have the Maastricht Treaty for?

I think I'm improving. Sending one Comic Book with a sales price of € 8.25 to Belgium will cost me € 8.70 tomorrow and only € 7.50 from Thursday ... (;-)

But digital registration in advance remains annoying.

N.B. Who the hell is sending letters weighing between 350 grams and 2 kilos?

It's just not clear to me whether such a shipment is still allowed in the letterbox, or whether you have to look for a "PostNL location".

Shipping to Belgium with DPD. Letterbox package 36cm ad 6.50. In addition, the courier simply hands it over to the door. Is my experience. 2 years without problems. I am rid of Postnl as much as possible. Registered mail which is simply delivered at the door, packages on the road for days. For NL package DHL for 5.95. No problem and delivered 9 out of 10 times the next day

Arco: N.B. Who the hell is sending letters weighing between 350 grams and 2 kilos?

Yes, that has always been stupid for Postnl not to label letters over 20 max 50 grams as a (letterbox) package (just to use a postal term).

In the meantime, have asked in the complaints compass postnl what the consequences are if people use the wrong franking method and how they plan to check? And I have a dark brown suspicion that the pick-up points do not know all this yet ........ Perhaps we will at least receive letterboxes with 4 slots (C4 or larger) and placards with attention about sufficient postage and abroad. conditions .......... (kidding)

Going back to the original topic:

- they call that rate of 4.40 Euro a letterbox package.

- you can also get this rate in a Post.NL store, so you don't have to print your own label.

- in recent years I usually send as a letterbox package instead of 4 postage stamps, because with a letterbox package also track & amp; trace. That is useful as proof.

- The letterbox package has therefore become 5 Eurocents more expensive.

Online franking is becoming more and more rewarding.

... I thought, last week.

Back then, an online stamp code was 4 cents cheaper than a stamp.

Now both appear to have become equally expensive ...
