Hallo,
Hello,
I have a framed picture of Mary with the baby Jesus hanging here, only I would like to know a little more about it. Such as where it could come from, what style of art is it here, or does the performance belong to a certain religious group, such as Greek Orthodox? Thanks in advance for the info.

Lijkt me gewoon katholiek. Bij me ouders hing vroeger ook zoiets.
Just seems like a Catholic. My parents used to have something similar.

You may be able to ask the question via email via museum Krona in Uden (see internet site). That is what I understood.

Thanks for the tip, I have already sent them an email and if I hear from them, I will post it here.
Beste Mensen,
Dear People,
The Krona has responded and they wrote to me that this is a copy of the Icon of Our Lady in Perpetual Assistance from probably the 15th century. The original is in Rome.
I did some research myself and the Icon seems to have been made in a Cretan Monastery (hence my suspicion of Greek Orthodox influences). There are even claims that the original image is much older and made by Luke the Evangelist.
In any case, it is an important image in both the Latin and Orthodox Church.
But maybe most of them already knew this.

Dus waardevolle informatie
Wonderful that extra information! Isn't it useful to include them in the catalog with details? "Most people already knew this" it doesn't seem to me that someone would have responded. So valuable information
You are absolutely right Harry56, I have (tried) to change it.
