I just saw this coming in: #10319193 . Flood stamp with date stamp on envelope Churches in wartime #3606683 . The black bar on the Flood version is over the original text and Flood has been added.

Although it's a funny idea: isn't this Flood thing just a fake?

The commerce industry wanted to benefit from the flood disaster of 1953. All store daughters (residual stock) were used so that they could be sold to collectors. Stamps and the surplus of unused 'FDC' covers from 1950 were also gladly used.

Something for the 'Other' section with the object 'Misplaced joke' or something like that. It says 'First Day of Issue' in large letters. Difficult with a stamp from 1950...
Place the cover in a dovecote for a few days until there is enough... you know... on it. Then you can possibly turn it into Pigeon Post. Very special :)

"alternative FDC"

I have the impression that everything is possible in the Netherlands. Perhaps you can now issue an FDC with a stamp from 1946?
'Memorable' memory of the disaster... the cover is a disaster in itself.
Completely in the style of the time: it couldn't be freaky enough to get 'exclusive' made pieces for your collection.
If the PTT made this, then at least they made something from it (cobbled together with surpluses).

You forgot to add Raoul62 to your message that this is a personal opinion!. Collectors may accept your message as truth, and of course we don't want that.

Is a real issued FDC from JP Boom. It is listed in the special catalog of the NVPH 2006-2011 and also in the catalog of the first letters of Avezaat and Okker (1985-1986). The FDC is depicted in the special catalogue.

I think Raoul62 . The stamp with print was issued on February 10. Published 1953. For help to the victims of the flood disaster. #10319193 has this date. So I think it's just an FDC.

So I think it's just an FDC.
Yes, of course. Raoul62 completely misses the point.
It's just a stamp postmarked on the first day of issue that sits on an envelope. Complies with an FDC with regard to these matters:
An FDC is an envelope that is stamped with stamps and provided with a date stamp with the same date as the day of issue of these stamps. Items meet the following conditions:
Unfortunately, it meets neither the first nor the second condition:
1. An FDC consisting of a regular envelope is only included in the catalog once per Issue group.
2. An FDC that consists of an envelope specially produced for the stamp issue may be included in several variants.
This envelope was not specially created for the stamp issue. Since the product does meet the basic definition, I would certainly include the item in the catalog. But whether this is just once or in multiple variants remains a question mark.
And btw, every FDC that is not composed of a normal (= blank) envelope is a commercial product, so I don't understand all the fuss from Raoul62.

Wasn't that a stamp from 1950? I'll look at it more carefully tonight. At first glance it seemed like a real craft project with recycled materials.
The envelope with an image from 1950 probably misled me.

Now I know :)
But it is and remains a monstrosity. Recycle an existing FDC cover years later to make something 'special' out of it. A craft with recycled materials.
Or is it a variant of the original FDC from 1950, with an 'error' seal? A Plaque Coincidence? We don't have that kind yet.

Take another look at the information from Leike-w Raoul62 . a bit of reading (page 2) (pdf)

Then look again at what westfriesland-stamps wrote.

Apparently still issued in editions too!.

Don't know the circulation of this FDC. I suspect that there were envelopes left over from the "Churches in wartime" issue and these were used for the flood disaster of 1953, hence the beams on the side.

The catalog value of "the churches in wartime" is 200 euros and of the "flood disaster" 40 euros", although the catalog value is only a guideline.

I have supplemented the item with the information here and the number BO8 from the specialty catalog [which I should have consulted earlier because I just have it :-)]. It's listed for €40 in that catalog, so that seemed like the most accurate price indication to me
