In de periode 1971-1973, in de transitie naar onafhankelijkheid van (West) Pakistan, had Bangladesh nog geen eigen uitgifte van postzegels. Daarom werd er met handstempels een opdruk geplaatst op de nog aanwezige voorraad postzegels. Er zijn veel verschillende vormen bekend. Er zijn tweetalige opdrukken, met de Engelse naam boven en met de Engelse naam onder. Daarnaast zijn er ook eentalige opdrukken bekend , zowel in het Engels als in het Bengaals. In de catalogus staan een aantal zegels met schuine opdruk (#3471451). Er schijnt ook verschil in grootte van de letters te bestaan, misschien ook nog verschillen in de kleur van de opdruk. Helaas bestaan er ook vervalsingen/huisvlijt. Er bestaan ook gelopen zegels. Uiteraard was er geen goedkeuring van de UPU. Wie maakt(e) zich daar nu druk over? Maar postzegels zijn postzegels als ze gelopen hebben, al was het alleen maar binnen het land zelf. Voor internationale post werd een beroep gedaan op India.
Ik zou ze toevoegen aan het land Bangladesh. Periode is 1971, 1972 of 1973. Kies maar. Dan is het natuurlijk de vraag in welke uitgifte. Het zou wel eens kunnen zijn dat ze allemaal op verschillende data zijn uitgegeven. Volgens sommigen moet iedere zegel dan een eigen uitgifte krijgen. Ik vind dat onzin en zou ze allemaal onder 1 uitgifte plaatsen. Dat kan bijvoorbeeld 1971 Nooduitgifte worden, maar verzin zelf maar een betere naam. De rest kun je prima zelf doen. Daarna is het wachten op iemand met meer verstand van deze zegels, die kan verbeteren, aanvullen en de puntjes op de i kan zetten.

Interessant voorbeeld: #3471451 heeft 1963 als jaar van uitgifte. Verder zijn twee van de vier zegels in  de afbeelding zonder overdruk, dus gewoon Pakistaanse zegels die niks in Bangladesh te zoeken hebben.

Interesting example: #3471451 has 1963 as the year of issue. Furthermore, two of the four stamps in the image are without overprint, so they are simply Pakistani stamps that have no business in Bangladesh.

Ze hebben allemaal een opdruk, al is de stempelafdruk bij de drie rechter zegels érg zwak.
Het uitgifte jaar zal wel onjuist zijn en de uitgiftenaam klopt ook niet (het zijn geen dienstzegels en deze versie is van ná 1961).
