Worden deze verzamelaars op de hoogte gebracht van de verandering of moeten ze dit een of andere keer zelf ontdekken?

En misschien hebben ze wel nét de Nederlandse versie. Door deze wijziging hebben ze dus opeens de Belgische versie in hun collectie.
Er zou eigenlijk iets op moeten worden gevonden dat je in je profiel al of niet kunt kiezen of je op de hoogte wilt worden gehouden van wijzigingen in albums die in je collectie zitten. En dat je daar dan een speciaal e-mailadres voor aanmaakt op gmail of zo, zodat je de meldingen rustig kunt bekijken en kunt weggooien na akkoord. En ze dus niet in je reguliere mailbox komen.
Ikzelf kan zoals het nu gaat Catawiki niet gebruiken voor het secuur bijhouden van mijn collectie en zal er altijd nog een ander systeem naast moeten hebben. Dubbel werk, dus.
Terwijl Catawiki op zichzelf eigenlijk een fantastisch systeem is.
Ik heb trouwens jouw serienaam weer gewijzigd door een letter c in het woord ‘Belgische’ tussen te voegen.

Dit is een interessant punt. Aan de ene kant is het voordeel van deze manier van werken dat de informatie over je eigen verzameling steeds beter en completer wordt zonder dat je er zelf iets voor hoeft te doen. Iedereen profiteert van ieders specifieke kennis. Er zijn niet zo veel mensen die weten dat er twee IC Gulf Oil versies zijn. Ik niet in ieder geval.
Aan de andere kant kan het ook vervelend uitpakken als iemand een reeks of album splitst in twee varianten. Dan kun je inderdaad net de verkeerde in je verzameling krijgen.
Ik denk dat de belangrijkste verbetering voor de korte termijn moet zijn dat gebruikers geattendeerd worden op significante wijzigingen m.b.t. de items in hun verzameling. Deze splitsing door Kamiel is er zo een. Als iemand een veld invult dat voorheen leeg was, zoals bijv. de afmetingen, dan hoeft dat niet lijkt me.
We willen nog een berichtensysteem gaan introduceren waarmee iedereen een eigen postbusje krijgt op de site en je makkelijk andere gebruikers een bericht kunt sturen. Dat zouden we kunnen gebruiken om belangrijke wijzigingen te melden aan mensen die het betreffende item in hun verzameling hebben.
Andere ideeën nog over het door Kamiel gesignaleerde issue? Zo lang het berichtensysteem er nog niet is misschien een topic voor belangrijke wijzigingen m.b.t. series en albumreeksen aanmaken?

On the one hand, the advantage of this way of working is that the information about your own collection is getting better and more complete without you having to do anything yourself. Everyone benefits from everyone's specific knowledge. Not many people know that there are two versions of IC Gulf Oil. Not me anyway.
On the other hand, it can also be annoying if someone splits a series or album into two variants. Then you can indeed get the wrong one in your collection.
I think the most important short-term improvement should be alerting users to significant changes to the items in their collection. This split by Kamiel is one of them. If someone fills in a field that was previously empty, such as the dimensions, then that doesn't seem necessary.
We want to introduce a messaging system that allows everyone to have their own mailbox on the site and you can easily send other users a message. We could use that to report important changes to people who have that item in their collection.
Any other ideas about the issue identified by Kamiel? As long as the messaging system is not there yet, perhaps create a topic for major changes to series and album series?
Erg leuk om te zien die 2 varianten van de Gulf Oil illustrated classics. Scanners kunnen hele andere resultaten opleveren qua kleur blijkt maar weer.
Kamiel: ik heb overigens de personen die de oorspronkelijke Gulf Oil reeks in hun verzameling hadden, geattendeerd op je wijziging.
