The jewels facsimile is hardcover, while the original never appeared with a hardcover. Is it actually a reprint? (definition issue)
I also wonder whether a catalog value of 45 euros is not a bit on the high side? It is special that an album goes from 19.95 to 45 in a year. Or has a smart guy somewhere bought up half the edition?

They call this a pseudo-facsimile. Published just like the old comics, but not published that way at the time. I would therefore not include it as a reprint I guess.
I have indeed seen them at the Comic Strip Days for 45 euros, but these books are indeed bought by speculators (not such a bad idea at all, if you look at the stock markets ...)

It is not a reprint, but a 1st edition, you know.
Oh, René entered a few seconds earlier with about the same message, I see now.

Well, but that is a bit of a mess for the real enthusiasts. Fortunately, Casterman has started releasing facsimiles again.

not necessarily. They released the Black Rocks with a blue back for the first time this year. A good facsimile for the first time. that's how smart they are at Casterman.
